Merry Tidings!!

My name is Heather, and I am a new member of the Coven.  I was invited to become a dedicant on September 18, 2001, and I can’t express the surprise and excitement!  I was raised Catholic/Lutheran (Missouri Synod), but my heritage is Mexican, Irish, and Romani (Gypsy).  So, there was a definite element of family magick in my childhood.  Almost all of the women in my father’s family have a limited gift of “sight”, and I’ve even had an experience of my own.

During my freshman year of high school I met a girl who was Muslim, and when I questioned my family and pastor about how Muslim people fit into the Christian view of the afterlife, I didn’t like the answer I received.  I began studying other religions that fit into my own personal view of the world and spirituality.  When I came to Wicca I knew I’d found the right one for me.  I’ve been studying for approximately 5 years and doing limited working with my aunt at home in Chicago and with the Coven since last year.  My special interest is in Romani culture and magick (you can’t deny your roots), and I love to cook Mexican food!!  I love discussing religion, spirituality, the metaphysical, politics, literature, movies, clothes, and food, and I’m ecstatic to be working with the Coven!

Love and Light,
Heather
