Narrator:

Introduction:  Love is the fabric of all life, the essence of growth and the foundation of the elements.   Through love, hunger can be tolerated, suffering can be eased, and pain can be endured.  When we look out at nature, we know with certainty that Mother Nature sculpted the earth with loving hands.

The touch of a loved one's hand can bring comfort in times of pain.  The touch of a mother's hand can calm the most treacherous injury and injustice.  We are here tonight to be Mother's hands.

Meditation and Grounding and Centering:  Close your eyes and feel your torso elongate.  Breathe in 1, 2, 3, 4.  Hold breath 1,2,3,4,5,6,7.  Exhale 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8.  Repeat:  Breath in 1,2,3,4.  Hold 1,2,3,4,5,6,7.  Exhale 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8.  (Spontaneous Healing Weil, Andrew M.D.)

Feel your feet sink into the earth and be transformed into an intricate root system that branches into the roots of the other trees.  You share the same energy force.  Our roots form an interwoven circle in which energy flows freely and unobstructed between us all.  Take a moment and feel the interconnection that comes from being part of a grove of trees.  Focus on your torso--breathe out as you imagine your torso growing in length.  (Inhale)  Breathe out and stretch out your arms and hands.  These are the branches, feel them touch the branches of the "tree" beside you, feel that person's energy flow through your branches into your "trunk" down to your roots connecting us all as one.  Grasp hands and feel the power of One.

Everyone:

Casting the Circle:  Hand in hand the circle is cast.  (With hands clasped walk around circle counter-clockwise to banish any negative energy present, chant:  Perfect Love, Perfect Trust.)

Invoking the Goddess and God:

Lighting of the Cauldron

All:  We are the Coven of the Burning Waters, We are family.

Magickal Work:

Air: (Walk over to Sufferer who is lying in the middle of the circle.  Bring with you incense.)

I am Air, I come from the east.  I bring with me the gift of clarity.  (Pass the incense over Sufferer's body)

Your dependence on pain medication will be replaced with clarity.

Do you give me your dependence so I can carry it?

(Hold out the hand that you receive energy in, for most right handed people you receive through their left hand and project energy through their right)

Sufferer:  I give it freely.

(Air washes hands in basin visualizing the water taking the dependence of pain medication away from Sufferer.)

Fire:  (Walk over to Sufferer who is lying in the middle of the circle.  Bring with you the red candle.)

I am Fire, I come from the south.  I bring with me the gift of pure blood, with the ability of transformation.  (Pass the candle over Sufferer's body).  Visualize tiny blood vessels bringing oxygen to your bones.  Imagine the circulation of your blood throughout your body.

I understand emotions, I run free with them.  Give me the hurt and anguish of childhood when these problems first occurred.  Let me carry the hurt?

Sufferer:  I give it freely.

(Fire washes hands in basin visualizing any blockages fading and alive healthy bone.)

Water:  (Walk over to Sufferer who is lying in the middle of the circle.  Bring with you a bowl of water.)

I am Water.  I come from the west.  I bring with me healing waters from the womb of the mother.  I am the essence of the hot springs, the river, and the sea.  (Sprinkle Sufferer with salt water.)  I will calm your fears.  I am the rhythm of love.  Let me take your fears?

Sufferer:  I will give them freely.

Earth:  (Walk over to Sufferer who is lying in the middle of the circle.  Bring with you a bowl of dirt with amethyst on top.)

I am Earth.  I come from the north.  I bring with me stability.  I am the foundation upon which nations are built, and man walks upon.  I am the very flesh and bones that holds your soul. (Drag amethyst over pain filled areas, Pass bowl of dirt over his body)  Your bones will be strong… for now; won't you lean upon me?

Sufferer:  I will.

(Earth washes away instability in the basin and visualizes a strong and healthy Sufferer.)

(East pick up incense, Fire pick up red candle, Water pick up bowl of water, Earth pick up bowl of earth.  Point these objects towards Sufferer project healing energy to Sufferer through these images.)

(Chant the names of the elements like we do when lifting a person.  Visualize lifting the black aura of sickness.)

Narrator:  Healing rituals only work when you believe.  The power of faith rings true across all nations and all religions.  Take a moment to visualize a pain free, healthy you with us.  (On our knees holding hands around Sufferer)

Do you have that image?

Sufferer's response

What do you hope to gain from this healing ritual?

Sufferer's response/Sufferer's statement of purpose

(Significant Other goes forward, circle closes around him.)

Significant Other:  With these hands, that are filled with great love for you, I will give you what you ask.  (Project this good energy to Sufferer with your hands on him or inches from him.)

(Sufferer gets up, and Significant Other and Sufferer join the circle)
