Our original focus for these pages was educating people who are new to Wicca, and to neo-paganism in general, and showing others with an interest what we're about. After a while, we realized that there is already a lot of wonderful introductory material on the Net, and our introduction isn't unique enough to contribute as much as we'd hoped. We also noticed that there isn't nearly enough information for people past the beginner stage.

With that in mind, we decided to change our focus. Now we plan to provide articles and essays on various topics, which should be helpful to those with more experience as well as to those who have recently found their path. The introductory material we already have will remain available, but we probably won't continue to enlarge it.  Some topics we've considered are:

  • Ethical considerations
  • Ritual construction
  • Concepts of deity
  • Ways our religion effects our everyday lives
  • Community service efforts within a Wiccan/Pagan ideology
  • How we view and are impacted by the wheel of the year
  • Transition points in our personal paths
These are just a few examples.  More essays from our coveners will be appearing quite soon.  If you'd like to see something in particular, or to contribute, please tell us. We welcome submissions.
  • Breaking Out - an essay on the "broom closet" by Eilís Moonbrook
  • Water - an essay on the emotional element by MoonIvy
  • Deity - an essay on Wiccan views of God/Goddess by Eilís Moonbrook
  • Rules of the Circle adopted by Coven of the Burning Waters, primarily to educate newcomers (but they naturally apply to the rest of us)

These are some of the rituals that have been written by our coveners  along the way.  Think of it as our online Book of Shadows.  We will update this list as we continue in our tradition of holding open celebrations and events.

Here are some sources of intelligent pieces of writing  that can be found on the web.  There are whole libraries worth searching, and you might want to see our Pagan Resources page for more links.
